On the same note, has anyone previously carrier unlocked their phone, then successfully unlocked the bootloader? When I tried following the bootloader instructions to unlock the bootloader (using the code provided from Motorola via AT&Ts unlock service) I got the error "code validation failure with status 7". Is this step skippable in anyway? I do not have an alternate sim card and do not plan to use this phone off of wi-fi. In the steps to unlock the phone to any carrier, it has the step: "Insert the SIM card from another wireless carrier". I went through the AT&T unlock request platform and received an unlock code. I went through the steps on the Motorola site and was informed my device was ineligible for unlocking the bootloader (due to being a carrier locked phone). Greetings, I have an older pre-paid motorola device I am no longer using and would like to unlock the bootloader.
